# Students bury time capsule on site of new care home in Lichfield

A group of Lichfield students have helped create a time capsule to be buried on the site of a new care home in the city.

Students and teachers from the Friary School with staff from The Spires care home as the time capsule is buried

Pupils from The Friary School chose objects such as a newspaper, a map of the city, an Ed Sheeran CD and a pound coin to bury for future generations.

The capsule was put in the ground at The Spires care home.

Mark Drury, assistant headteacher at The Friary School, said: “Students had a wonderful day burying the time capsule full of reminders of the here and now for their future selves.

“Our students from Year 7 submitted so many interesting and thoughtful entries, and are really looking forward to uncovering them here at The Spires 50 years from now.”
