# Students cook up a treat as part of education challenge

STUDENTS at a local school have cooked up an educational experience.

The Chase Terrace Academy Year 10 pupils have taken part in a project focusing on the role of nutrition in elite sport.

Delivered in collaboration with professional chefs Zena Weeks, Natalie Fernihough and Harry King from Cooking for Champions, the project provided helped students understand how food supports athletic performance, recovery and long-term wellbeing.

The initiative was supported by The Noel Sweeney Foundation and Burntwood Be A Friend.

Students were challenged to design and prepare dishes for a Premier League footballer – and they came up with a Shakshuka pre-match breakfast and a banana and chocolate cake for post-match recovery.

They also received a video message of support from Newcastle United and England player Jacob Ramsey.

A spokesperson for the school said:

> "This project has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved when schools and communities work together. We simply could not have delivered this opportunity without the support of our partners, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone involved.
