# Three Lichfield groups awarded a share of £7,800 funding pot

Three groups in Lichfield are celebrating after being awarded a share of £7,800.

Representatives celebrating their grants from Central England Co-operative’s Community Dividend Fund.

Christ Church C of E Primary School, Lichfield City FC and Woodhouse Farm and Garden all received a share of the money from Central England Co-operative’s Community Dividend Fund.

The money is part of £55,000 handed out to 35 good causes across the country.

Christ Church C of E Primary School will use their £5,000 as part of a project to create an all-weather outdoor area, while Lichfield City will use their £2,000 to pay for new footballs to be used by 21 teams across all age groups.

Kevin Green, from Lichfield City, said: “As you can imagine, ensuring that all players are able to play football in our local leagues requires a lot of dedication form volunteers and also a lot of expensive kit and equipment.

“The funding provided will go towards providing these children with Central England Co-operative sponsored football kits and also vital training balls which will be purchased from Fairtrade Bala Footballs.”

Woodhouse Farm and Garden, based in Fisherwick Wood has been handed £800 towards ongoing work to improve the site.

Spokesperson Annamarie Stone said: “The donation from the Central England Co-op will be used towards building work changing an old piggery into a new community building.”
