# Three taken to hospital after crash on the A38 near Lichfield

Three people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A38 near Lichfield.

The three-car accident happened at 2pm today (August 21) near Fradley.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:

> “The driver of one of the cars, a man in his forties, had neck and back pain and was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar before being taken to Royal Derby Hospital. His front seat passenger, also a man in his thirties, had back pain and a head injury and was taken to Queens Hospital in Burton.

> “A woman in her fifties in the second vehicle had neck pain and minor whiplash. She was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and a neck collar and was taken to Queens Hospital in Burton.  
>  
> “Another woman involved in the incident who was complaining of headaches, told ambulance crews she would make her own way to hospital.”
