# Tour lifts the lid on hidden treasures in Lichfield Cathedral’s library

New tours of the library at Lichfield Cathedral are launching in May.

Tucked away on the upper floor of the Chapter House, the library houses a unique collection of historic treasures.

The *From Manuscript to the Printed Word* tours will offer visitors an opportunity to see some of the cathedral’s earliest texts, including a 15th Century illuminated copy of Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, a Wycliffe Bible and a 16th Century printed Book of Hours.

Clare Townsend, the cathedral’s libraries’ manager, said: “It’s a great privilege for us to be able to share our wonderful collection and we hope to see many new faces when we re-open our doors in May.”
