THE chair of Burntwood Town Council says she hopes community spirit will help people to navigate future challenges.

Cllr Kathy Coe MBE made her comments in a newsletter to local residents.

In it, she wished residents well for 2025 and said she hoped the way people came together in recent years could be replicated going forward.

> “It has been a strange few years recently – and if we go back a while we all saw how our community came together to support each other during the pandemic.

> “It was inspiring to see just how much we can change our community when we choose to, and I hope that we can grow that spirit again during challenges like the ongoing cost of living crisis and the extreme weather conditions that we have experienced.

> “This is a new year and a new start – and a new opportunity to make life better for each other.

> “We know that some difficulties stay with us but if we support each other we can manage this year together.”
