# Tributes following death of 103-year-old Burntwood man

TRIBUTES have been paid following the death of a Burntwood man at the age of 103.

Bernhard Mills was believed to be the oldest man in the town before his passing on Friday (7th August).

Hammerwich Parish Council's vice-chair Cllr Dave King said:

> "A very talented musician, Bernhard played the rare pedal steel guitar and was probably the oldest person in the UK to do so.

> "He walked the half mile to his church, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, several times a week well into his 102nd year.

> "Famed for his jokes, Bernhard will be sadly missed by the whole community."
