Two men have been arrested after a man was left with serious head injuries following an attack in Burntwood on New Year’s Day.

The 66-year-old was walking home with a friend on Queen Street when they were assaulted. He suffered head injuries and remains in what police say is a stable but serious condition.

Two local men – a 24-year-old and 25-year-old – were arrested yesterday (January 6) and have been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in February.
