A charity show featuring a host of performers at the Lichfield Garrick has raised £6,755 for good causes.

The cash raised by the Variety Concert for Ukraine will be split between the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and Lichfield City of Sanctuary.

Organised by Lichfield Garrick pantomime dame Sam Rabone saw ticket sales, bar takings and donations help reach the total.

Matt Clay, the theatre’s interim executive manager, said:

> “All of us at the Lichfield Garrick are thrilled at the support our audiences have shown to help the people of Ukraine.

> “We are very humbled to play our part in supporting these two vital charities, and that even in these dark times great art and entertainment can make a difference.

Panto pal Ben Thornton joined Sam on the night, along with CBeebies duo Rebecca Keatley and Katy Ashworth, as well as stage stars George Akid and Maria Conneely.

Sam said:
