# Vergers visit Lichfield for annual conference

Vergers from across the country have visited Lichfield for their annual gathering.

The Deans Vergers Conference 2010 saw 31 members from Cathedrals all across the UK visit the city for the three-day *Renovation, Restoration, Renewal* event.

Lichfield Cathedral Head Verger Chris Craddock Head Verger, Chris Craddock, who organised the event, said:

> “We are very proud to welcome the Head Vergers from all over the country to Lichfield. There were representatives from 33 different Cathedral, including York, Wells and Bristol and delegates found it very useful to share ideas and concerns with other Head Vergers.

> “Of course it is also a privilege to help other Cathedrals learn about our very special Cathedral here in Lichfield, including the current restoration and renovation currently in progress.”
