A group of volunteers are getting together in Lichfield to give the city a spruce up in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The [Lichfield Litter Legends](https://www.facebook.com/groups/574025143505764/) will be at Stowe Fields from 11am to 2pm on Tuesday (31st May).

A spokesperson said:

> “We are welcoming all of our volunteers – and anyone else that would like to join us – to meet for some cake, a cup of tea and directions to the area which they are going to clean for Her Majesty.

> “Our group are passionate about getting to our ultimate aim of a litter-free Lichfield, but we also like to enjoy ourselves as well, so we would like to welcome like-minded people to join us in our celebration.

> “Our monarch has served us for 70 years and we need to show her that we appreciate her sacrifice in the only way we know how – we hate litter and what better way for us to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than to ‘clean for the Queen’?”
