They were joined this weekend by Cllr Ben Rayner, who urged others to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand.

“The work being undertaken by the volunteers has been fantastic so far,” he said. “The group has worked extremely hard and the improvements are visible for all.

“It is important for further volunteers to help throughout the year and residents are requested to use the litter bins or take rubbish home.”

The working group are currently meeting each Saturday, starting from the Community Hall at 9.30 am).

Once the best kept village competition is over, the volunteers plan to meet monthly to ensure the village looks great throughout the year.

Cllr Rayner added: “I hope many residents help with this project.

“They are a very friendly group and this project is a great way to meet others locally. I am sure all residents of Fradley would join me in thanking the team for their exceptionally hard work.”
