Volunteers from Lichfield Arts have been working off any festive excesses with a walk from Hednesford to the the city.

Lichfield Arts volunteers taking part in the walk

The group of 13 took part in the Lichfield Alternative Mountaineering Expeditions (LAME) journey on New Year’s Eve.

They travelled across Cannock Chase and Castle Ring, before moving on to Gentleshaw Common and along Green Lane before heading back into the city.

A spokesperson for Lichfield Arts said: “Everyone enjoyed themselves and they will be in peak condition for the exciting programme of concerts and festivals in the coming months.”
