The tone for the game was set in the opening seconds as Charlotte Jarvis ran through the heart of Walsalls defence to test the keeper.

Diamonds’ pinpoint passing and movement continually opened up the defence, with Megan Davey hitting four, Elizabeth Palmer a hatrick with Alex Buck, Libby Queen and Jarvis also on the score sheet.

Walsall managed a consolation goal after some poor defending from the Diamonds full backs.
