A Burntwood pensioner has been conned out of cash by bogus workmen.

Three men carried out work on the roof of a property in Hunter Avenue yesterday morning (June 7) and the 78-year-old occupant handed over cash.

Police say family members became suspicious when they returned to the address and saw people on the roof. The said they would come back to do more work, but this was refused. They then left in a blue-coloured van.

Anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 575 of June 7.
