The We Love Lichfield fund has supported a range of different organisations looking to improve life across the region.

Michael Fabricant MP was among those who attended an event to hand over the money to representatives from the groups.

He said: “From being founded just a few years ago, We Love Lichfield now awards around £25,000 worth of grants twice a year to local groups.

“The range of these organisations in the district is enormous and demonstrates the sense of community throughout the area.

“As well as Lichfield it includes Buntwood and the other towns and villages within Lichfield district. The variety of groups getting funding include a history group in Fradley, a grandparents group in Burntwood supporting carers, and centre with a huge garden for use by scouting and other organisations near Whittington.

“I am keen to visit many of them and lend my support.

“Simon Price and his team deserve huge thanks for the work and energy they put in to making this organisation work.”
