THE weather has forced the cancellation of a play event in Burntwood.

The Play in the Parks session had been due to take place at Burntwood Leisure Centre today (4th August).

But a spokesperson for Burntwood Town Council confirmed it had been cancelled due to safety fears.

> “As the field is very open, the winds have picked up to a point where we do not feel it would be safe to put up gazebos and the inflatable.
