A stand-up show with a difference is the pick of the day at the Lichfield Festival.

Comedy musician Rainer Herach is back in the city to answer those awkward questions such as ‘why is organ music so boring?’ and ‘how can I play a musical instrument without practicing?’

All Classical Music explained takes place at the Lichfield Garrick at 8pm.

If it’s more traditional music you’re after, then the Australian String Quartet’s 7.30pm concert at Lichfield Cathedral will be right up your street.

Earlier in the day tenor Nicholas Mulroy joins pianist John Reid to perform in the Lady Chapel. The concert starts at noon.

Elsewhere, the free exhibitions by Angie Lewin, Alistair Tucker and Andy Lovell continue at Lichfield Cathedral.
