WHITTINGTON suffered a day of struggle with the bat as they fell to a heavy defeat at Highcroft and Great Barr.

The home side made a bright start after being sent in by the village side, reaching 134 before a wicket fell. They eventually reached 373-9 from their 50 overs.

A dismal day with the bat saw only two players reach double figures as they were bowled out for 92.
