Whittington Vets progressed into the next round of the cup after claiming the scalp of a Premier Division side.

From the off the game started at a frantic pace and an early set piece from Rylan Clark resulted in a headed goal for Phil Joyce that the Trooper keeper could do nothing about.

The lead was extended further in the second half when a cross from Simon Burchell was dispatched by Paul Brampton.

Whittington’s defence remained untroubled to record an excellent win against higher division opponents.
