# Young volunteers lend a hand at Lichfield Cathedral

An army of young volunteers have been spending their summer holidays helping out at [Lichfield Cathedral](http://www.lichfield-cathedral.org/?ref=lichfieldlive.co.uk).

Volunteers at Lichfield Cathedral

The group were taking part in the Cathedral Camps volunteering summer tour which sees young people getting involved in all aspects of Cathedral life – from clearing overgrown shrubs, to marshalling the Staffordshire Hoard On Tour.

Chris Nuttall, Cathedral administrator, said:

> “We are delighted to welcome Cathedral Camps to Lichfield. We hope that for the young people involved it will be a worthwhile and memorable experience. Their assistance will be invaluable in helping us to address some long overdue tasks, and in welcoming visitors to the Staffordshire Hoard on Tour.”

Camp leader Emma Robinson added:

> “What could be better than spending a week surrounded by some of our finest national architecture and getting to know fellow volunteers from across the world, while making a tangible contribution to the future of our unique heritage?”
