Barton United suffered an afternoon to forget as they were thumped 8-0 by Alvis.
The Les James Challenge Cup tie pitted Adam Wall’s Black Swans against their opponents who are unbeaten in the Midland Football League Division Two – one above Barton.
Alvis were also defending the trophy they won last time out and hit eight without reply as Dean Linton hit a hat-trick, Ben Cranage bagged a brace and Thomas Maguire, Daniel Pidgeon and Charlie Cook were also on target.
Barton will hope to bounce straight back when they entertain Shipston Excelsior on Saturday (September 17).
