Mitchel Emms has seen his dream of winning The Voice crushed.
He lost out in the public vote to Karl Michael on the BBC show after judge Danny O’Donoghue had earlier decided to put his other act Andrea Begley straight through to the next stage.
The Burntwood singer’s exit will have come as a disappointment after he wowed the audience and judges with his rendition of Radioactive – with judge Will.I.am describing it as “electrifying”.
Sir Tom Jones was also impressed. He added: “It was fantastic – for that song the energy was tremendous.”
Judge O’Donoghue admitted he was impressed.
“People can line up now and buy tickets to the Mitchel Emms show,” he said after his performance.
“In my opinion that was the best performance I’ve seen from you in the competition.”
