A new coffee shop could be on its way to Lichfield city centre.

Coffee#1 is hoping to convert the unit currently occupied by the YMCA charity shop on Gresley Row in the Three Spires Shopping Centre.
The chain – which operates more than 50 sites in Wales and the south-west of England – also hopes to create an outdoor seating area with five tables in front of the store.
A statement supporting a planning application said: “The use of the premises as a coffee shop will complement the wider retail provision along Gresley Row and it is felt that the nature of the operation will support the vitality and viability of the city centre.
“Indeed, evidence from existing Coffee#1 stores in similar locations would suggest that there is likely to be an increase in footfall and an extension in the length of stay in the area by customers.
“The design of the store with an external seating area will ensure that there will be a more active streetscene.”
People can view full details of the proposal and comment on it via Lichfield District Council’s planning website.

Great news! We don’t have nearly enough hot beverage outlets in our little city.
Perfectly placed for a coffee shop as that’s where most people start off shopping and costa is disgusting
