She said the group would help support and inspire those who wanted to try something new, such as launching a business, writing a book or starting a charity.

“It will give people an opportunity to meet other women who ‘get’ what it’s like, the pressures they are under and support them to get their goals realised.

“Most women over 40, find themselves feeling very different. Mid-life has arrived all of a sudden, yet they still feel like they are in their twenties. New confidence can arise and a refreshing belief in themselves gets mixed with a passion to do something more in their lives. It is very powerful.

“I love the buzz that can be created by getting positive women together face to face. Women supportiung women is something to be encouraged.”

Sara, who founded the online networking group at www.hikingbootsandposhpants.com, said local author Carol E Wyer would speak at the first event from 9.30am to 11.30am on January 31 at Advantage House in Lichfield city centre.

“So many women have ideas and goals but don’t know where to start,” Sara said.  “It’s a case of just learning new skills and stepping forward into their next adventure.”

Places can be booked online.
