Community groups in Lichfield and Burntwood are being invited to apply for a share of a £500,000 funding pot.

Organisations can apply to the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for up to £10,000.

Funding must be used to support projects that benefit employment, skills or health of local people living in former mining towns and villages.

Andy Lock, from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, said: “We want to make a difference to the coalfields, but we know that we need the help of residents and in particular community groups to do this.

“We have invested in hundreds of groups up and down the country and are really looking forward to hearing about the projects that we could support in Staffordshire.”
