A Lichfield retailer is giving shoppers the chance to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine by purchasing a pack of one of the country’s most-loved beers.

Chernigivske, known as Che in the Eastern European country, will be available to by at Central England Co-op stores.

It comes as the Budweiser Brewing Group launched a campaign to donate all profits from sales to relief efforts supporting 1,800 locals who work in Ukrainian breweries after some sites were hit by missile strikes.

The brewer has agreed to pay annual salaries up front to help them reach safety or transfer to other sites elsewhere to start a new life.

Cenrtral England Co-op store nanager Jamie Joyce said:

“Everyone has been shocked and saddened by the events unfolding in Ukraine and all our communities have shown their desire to do what they can to support those impacted by the conflict and that has been highlighted by how they’ve given to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal in store.

“We’re delighted to now stock the special pack of Che lager in our stores and it’s a really great campaign by Budweiser which we’re proud to support.”
