THE new headteacher of a Lichfield school says she is “thrilled” to have taken up the role.
Nicola Arkinstall has taken on the leadership post at Willows Primary Academy.
She said she was looking forward to carrying on the work of previous headteacher Joanne Whitmore who has now taken on a new role as CEO of the Future Generation Trust.
Nicola said:
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the school community.
“I would like to celebrate the work that Mrs Whitmore has carried out for Willows Primary – we are all very glad that she will still be a part of our school, albeit in a different capacity, in her new role with the Future Generation Trust.
“As headteacher, my mission is to continue to build on the culture of excellence and ambition for all so that every child can realise our vision to be ‘the best that they can be’.
“My priority is to ensure that every child continues to receive the best possible quality of education and care. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every child within our school feels happy, safe and achieves their full potential.
“Working with our fantastic team of highly experienced professionals, we will ensure that our school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to succeed.”
The new headteacher will be hosting open events at 5pm on Wednesday (8th January) and 2pm on Thursday for parents looking for primary school places for their children ahead of the application deadline later this month. Places can be booked by calling 01543 421830.
David Werry, chair of governors at Willows Primary Academy, said:
“We are very pleased to welcome Nicola Arkinstall as our new headteacher.
“We were delighted to appoint someone with such a depth of experience – and the governors are very excited about the continuing journey for Willows Primary Academy.”
