A SPORTS club in Barton-under-Needwood has drawn up plans to replace existing buildings with a new clubhouse.
Planning permission is being sought for the development at the Holland Sports Club.
The proposals would see the demolition of the four existing buildings on the Potters Way site. The replacement clubhouse would consist of four changing rooms and associated showers, toilets, sports official changing rooms, kitchen, bar, meeting room, function room, cafe and restaurant.
The plans also include a gym on the first floor.
The planning statement submitted to East Staffordshire Borough Council says:
“The proposal would lead to public benefits in the form of economic growth and the substantial contribution to the local community in terms of its health and wellbeing.
“This has the potential to lessen the burden on the public purse by reducing pressures on public health resources.
“The proposed scheme would not result in any significant adverse impacts on the character and appearance of the area, the residential amenity of the occupiers of neighbouring properties, highway safety, biodiversity or flooding.”
