PLANS for a new car wash facility near Fradley have been rejected.
The proposals had been drawn up for the existing commercail yard at Brickyard Farm off Wood End Lane.
If approved, the scheme would have also seen the creation of a waiting area and the retention of a tyre storage building on the site.
But Lichfield District Council has refused permission for the scheme due to the impact on the local road network.
A decision notice said:
“The proposed development would result in an intensification of vehicular movements using the existing site access onto Wood End Lane in close proximity to the strategic road network at the A38 and Hilliards Cross junction.
“In the absence of a transport assessment or equivalent evidence, the application fails to demonstrate that the intensified use of the access would not result in an unacceptable impact on highway safety or the safe and efficient operation of the strategic road network.”
Full details can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.

Have they seen the devastating HS2 has caused in the area. Completely nuts! 🥜
