A NEW season of shows has been launched by a Lichfield venue.

The Hub at St Mary’s will feature everything from children’s theatre to music legends over the coming months.

Bosses said they were aiming to present performances that “span generations and cross borders”.

A spokesperson said:

“The arts remind us that everyone must pull together to move things forward – a truth long championed by cultural trailblazers like the Rebel Dread himself, Don Letts.

“Du Iz Tak shows that understanding each other doesn’t require a shared language, while Hollie McNish’s poetry refuses to prettify the truth about motherhood and class, giving voice to stories often left untold.”

A new lunchtime concert series will also be launched as part of the programme to bring together diverse voices from around the world.

The spokesperson added:

“And of course, we have plenty of artists you already know and love, from some of the greatest voices of our time, Madeline Bell and Patti Boulaye, to the iconically cool Huey Morgan, guitar legend Steve Cradock and the king of wishful thinking himself Peter Cox of Go West.”

“Theatre, comedy and music can’t solve everything, but they can create something our community desperately needs – connection in an age of division.”

More details on the new season can be found at thehubstmarys.co.uk or from the venue in person.
