A LICHFIELD pre-school is top of the class after achieving Maths Champion status.
The programme is a professional development initiative which aims to build the knowledge of staff and help them make the subject fun for youngsters.
The team at St Joseph’s RC Primary School took part in training events thanks to funding from the Early Education Foundation and the Department for Education.
Headteacher Dee McLeary, said:
“This is a wonderful achievement by the pre-school team and shows the dedication and passion that they have for promoting lifelong learning.
“It’s great to see children in the early years enjoying investigating, exploring and developing confidence in maths as they prepare to start their school journey.”
