Lichfield’s MP has welcomed the impending introduction of the new £10.
Michael Fabricant got a sneak preview of the new tenner at a meeting with the Bank of England.
He said: “The new plastic £10 note is a little larger than the new £5 note, but 15% smaller than the existing paper £10 note. It’s been designed to fit more easily in wallets and purses and has four raised dots in the top left hand corner to help blind and partially sighted people to distinguish it from the plastic fiver.
“Over 20 years ago I advocated the change to plastic notes having seen them in use in Australia. They last far longer than paper money and are much harder to forge.
“I am grateful the Bank of England gave me the opportunity to see the new £10 note. However, no free samples were offered!”
“I’ve been a wearer of polymer hair pieces for a while now, so it’s nice to see it being used for something useful.”

Pretty useless waste of words on his part and time on mine. I am however pleased to see he is spending his time in the big city to good effect fighting for the rights of our small corner of this once green and pleasant land.

I don’t care about his hair and cannot see the point of insulting him over that. I do see the point of insulting him over his fatuous existence as a generator of nothing more than hot air and sycophantic questions in the House.
Can’t be bothered to check Hansard to see what “advocacy” he’s done in the last two decades since this big idea. Glad he doesn’t want “to punch her in the throat” though doesn’t show that side of the tenner for some reason.
