Members of Lichfield Ladies Circle joined groups from across the country for the themed event to raise money for the Whizz-Kidz disabled children’s charity.

Ladies Circle National President and member of the city group, Ruth Curry, opted for a play on her name to help generate cash for the good cause she has nominated for the year.

The group hopes to raise enough cash to provide at least one wheelchair, as well as creating awareness about the volunteering opportunities associated with Whizz-Kidz.

Lichfield Ladies Circle chairman Helen MacDonald said: “Ladies Circle is all about having fun and giving something back to the community. What better way to combine these two elements than to host a curry night.

“Everybody loves a curry and with all the ladies getting involved we have raised £206 for Ruth’s charity!”
