LICHFIELD District Council has praised the impact of the military community as it marked Armed Forces Day.
The flag was flown outside the council house to mark the national occasion.
A spokesperson said:
"Lichfield district has a proud military heritage and strong links to the Armed Forces community.
"From the Defence Medical Services based at Whittington, where military medics continue to train and serve, to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, our district plays an important role in recognising and supporting those who serve our country.
"As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we are committed to supporting serving personnel, veterans and military families.
"Today, we join communities across the UK in thanking all those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces and the families who support them."
