The leader of Lichfield District Council has “lost all of his credibility” in the fall-out from the failure of Friarsgate, according to the leader of the opposition group.
A former member of Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet said the current group leadership group “cannot credibly continue” after confirming his decision to step down.
Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet will discuss plans that could see them foot the £49million bill for Friarsgate this evening – but the talks will once again be held behind closed doors.
The local branch of the Green Party says it is “staggered” by Lichfield District Council’s plan to stump up £49million to ensure the Friarsgate development goes ahead.
