Lichfield Cathedral will be hosting an exhibition of stone sculptures artist Kevin Blockley.
The Divine Architecture showcase will see a display in the south transept and outside the west font.
A spokesperson said: Kevin “has worked in various art forms over the years, but finds the permanence of stone particularly rewarding.
“Following his excavations in Canterbury Cathedral in 1993, and with the encouragement of the cathedral’s stone masons, Kevin started carving stone after being immersed in medieval architecture for over six months.
“Once familiar with the material his Medieval-style sculptures soon gave way to more personal, dynamic forms before progressing to pieces influenced by microscopic life.
“New pieces for 2013 are a development of the microscopic forms into large-scale outdoor pieces.”
Entrance to the exhibition is free and will run from tomorrow (August 16) to August 30.
