Lichfield Cathedral is set to play host to a number of autumn concerts.
The programme kicks off with Cathy Lamb performing music by Bach, Vivaldi, Cyril Jenkins and Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre.
Andrew Lumsden from Winchester Cathedral follows on October 15 with music by Debussy, Reger, Bach, and Coates’ March The Dambusters.
Liverpool Cathedral’s Ian Tracey follows on November 12 with works from Franck, Peeters, Whitlock, and Bach, before Lichfield’s Martyn Rawles rounds off the programme on December 3 with a performance of music by Elgar, Schmidt, Bach, and Berlioz’s Hungarian March.
Organist Martyn said: “We are all looking forward to this autumn’s series of organ concerts at Lichfield Cathedral.
“The cathedral is home to one of the finest instruments in the country, and we hope lots of people will want to come to see and hear the full range of colours and power it has to offer when played by four distinguished cathedral musicians.
“In particular, it will be a great thrill to welcome our two visiting virtuoso recitalists, and to hear the might of our cathedral organ in some unusual repertoire, including Saint-Saëns’ spooky Danse macabre and Eric Coates’ Dambusters March!”
