BOOKWORMS will be in for a treat at an event taking place in Lichfield this weekend.

Independent authors, specialist booksellers and creative traders will gather at the Guildhall on Saturday (17th October) for the Lichfield Book Extravaganza.

The event runs from 10.30am to 4pm and will feature more than 50 stalls.

Visitors can discover a wide variety of independent writing, from contemporary fiction and romance to fantasy and science fiction.

Authors attending include Gemma Walker, who writes female-led crime thrillers and had a new title published in August, Celia Tandy, author of second chance tales of romance who has a new book The Broken Pieces of Us out now, local author Millie Bowker, who writes multi-genre romance, and Nick Snape, whose fantasy series Warriors of Spirit and Bone feature fast-paced action and character-driven twists.

There will also be plenty to browse beyond the books, including comics, zines, illustrations, stationery, gifts, prints and memorabilia.

Organiser Dexter O’Neill said:

"It’s fantastic to be returning to Lichfield once more. The city is a cultural cornerstone, with such a rich heritage and a wonderful sense of community.

"The Guildhall is a fitting setting for an event that brings together independent authors, creative traders and readers, giving people the chance to discover something new while supporting small businesses."
