CHASETOWN kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 4-2 home win over Brocton.
It was the visitors who broke the deadlock after 15 minutes though when Curtis Pond spilled a cross and Morgan Payne fired home.
Ten minutes later and Brocton doubled their advantage when Payne turned provider for Jude King to slot home.
The Scholars halved the deficit five minutes before half-time when a penalty allowed Jack Langston to slot home from the spot.
A new 11 took to the field for Chasetown at half time – and they got their side level just before the hour mark when Joey Butlin crossed for Ben Lund to nod home the equaliser.
Ten minutes later and the Scholars were in front for the first time in the game when Kieran Fenton rose highest to head in a corner.
Another goal followed quickly when Lund bagged his second after lifting the ball over the Brocton keeper.
