Former player Hugh Kirke has been appointed as the new chairman of Barton United FC.
He has taken over the position from Geoff Millington, who stepped aside to focus his efforts on his work with the wider Holland Sports Club.
Kirke, a former Barton United player, played a key part in appointing new boss Adam Wall and assistant Andy Batha.
Meanwhile, the club’s reserve team will stay under the guidance of Leon Evans and Martin Uncles, but they have switched leagues to the Staffordshire Senior League Division 2 South.
Barton were also successful in accessing funding from the Football Foundation to start an under 21 team which will play in the Lichfield and District Sunday League U21 Division.
Kirke said: “We are really pleased with all which we have achieved the last few months. By creating an under 21 section we are hoping to close the gap and assist transition between the adults and Barton Rovers, our partner junior club.
“Any prospective players for any of our teams U21, reserves or firsts are welcome to join us.”
