Free sessions for people with dementia are being offered in Burntwood.

Free sessions for people with dementia are being offered in Burntwood.

They are part of the Thinking Active project which aims to use exercise and cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) to help those with mild to moderate forms of the illness.

CST uses group-based tasks to help dementia patients.

A spokesperson said: “There is growing evidence that regular exercise can help to slow the progression of dementia.

“We hope that by combing physical activity with CST we can provide enhanced health benefits to dementia sufferers.”

The Burntwood session takes place at the Burntwood Memorial Community Centre on Rugeley Road. For more details call 01543 676443.
