RUNNERS at a charity relay have helped to raise almost £30,000 for a local charity.
The One More Lap event took place across 12 hours at Stowe Pool in September and saw 20 teams along with solo participants challenged to see how many laps they could complete.
The fundraiser has collected £29,788 for Kids' Village – which is hoping to build a respite holiday centre for seriously ill children and their families at Wychnor – so far.
Event director Ian Covey said:
"To raise almost £30,000 by running round in small circles is a brilliant achievement.
"Huge thanks to everyone who took part, donated and cheered them on. Every penny goes to support Kids’ Village, as they get ready to welcome the first children and families next year.
"We’re also incredibly grateful to the sponsors, supporters and volunteers who made the day possible. Their generosity helped us create an event that’s free to enter and welcoming to runners of all abilities."
One More Lap will return for another edition on 19th September 2027. To find out more and enter, visit onemorelap.co.uk.
