Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a house in Chasetown.
A property in Meadway Street was cordoned off today (July 5) after officers were called to reports of suspicious activity at the property shortly after 8.30am.
The body of a man – who is believed to have lived at the property – was found inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Chief Inspector Selwyn Burton, of Trent Valley Division, said:
“Part of Meadway Street, including the house, has been cordoned off while scene of crime officers and detectives carry out inquiries. A Home Office post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the cause of the man’s death, which is being treated as suspicious.
“High-visibility police patrols are in the area to offer reassurance to local residents.”
