Police launch jewellery investigation after arrest in Lichfield

Police are hoping to trace the owners of jewellery they believe was stolen from a house in Lichfield or Burntwood.

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Lichfield on April 28 and a number of items were discovered as a result. However, officers believe they owners may not even realise the items are missing.

One of the more unusual items is a penknife commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s coronation. Other items include earrings, necklaces and cuff links.

Anyone who believes the jewellery belongs to them is asked to contact DC Kevin Ball at Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 44 55.

The man has been released pending further enquiries.
