Chasetown FC have confirmed that record appearance holder Chris Slater has left the club.
The defender – who also had a spell at Port Vale after being part of the club’s historic team which reached the third round of the FA Cup in 2008 – wrote his name into Scholars history earlier this season.
He beat Andy Cox’s record 535 apperarances in March.
But his lengthy spell at the club now appears to be over after Chasetown released the news on their social media channels:
