A SECOND Reform UK councillor in Lichfield has switched to sit as an independent after being suspended by the party.
Cllr Matthew Wallens had represented the party in the Lichfield City North seat at Staffordshire County Council.
However, he is now listed as an independent member.
Despite the change on the county council website, he remains listed as the Reform UK representative for Curborough ward on the Lichfield District Council website.
Speaking last year during the election campaign, Cllr Wallens said that he would "fight to put people first, protect the most vulnerable people and families in our areas and make sure that people feel safer on our streets".
He added that "only Reform UK can provide the fresh vision and change".
Cllr Wallens has yet to comment on the switch, but a Reform UK spokesperson said:
"Cllr Wallens has been suspended from Reform UK pending investigation."
It follows the separate news that Cllr Dean Robertson was now an independent member of Lichfield City Council.
Reform UK said the party had suspended the Stowe ward member "pending investigation".
