A talk in Lichfield will shed more light on the scandal at the centre of a hit TV drama.

Post Office Scandal – The Inside Story will see author and journalist Nick Wallis lift the lid on the “most widespread miscarriage of justice in UK history”.

The story of hundreds of innocent sub-postmasters who fought to clear their names – with some going to prison – after failings with a new computer system has returned to the headlines following the airing of Mr Bates versus the Post Office on ITV.

Nick, who was a consultant for the four-part series, will discuss the story in more depth at the Lichfield Garrick on 24th March.

A spokesperson said:

“Nick released a best-selling book that became serialised across national media.

“Now a primetime ITV drama, this jaw-dropping and gripping account is the subject of this equally compelling stage show.

“The most widespread miscarriage of justice in UK legal history – Nick’s account will include a question and answer section with the audience – and there may also be a special guest or two present from the scandal itself, to provide some first hand expositions.”
