Residents of a village near Lichfield are being urged to help the fight against crime by joining the local Neighbourhood Watch.

Kings Bromley Neighbourhood Watch group is looking to boost membership following the launch of a new OWL (Online Watch Link) computer-based system.

OWL allows neighbourhood watch members to receive messages from police about criminal activity in their area.

Kings Bromley neighbourhood officer, PC Andy Brown explained why people should join Neighbourhood Watch schemes:

“Neighbourhood Watch members play a vital role as the eyes and ears of local police and help keep streets and areas crime free.”

A public meeting to discuss the new system and to recruit new members is being held at Kings Bromley village hall on Alrewas Road on May 21, at 7.30pm.
