A NEW play area in Fazeley is in full swing after a £100,000 investment.
The facility, on the Victory Terrace recreation ground, includes equipment such as slides, a tower, boat, climbing wall, roundabout, play panels, agility trail and accessible picnic bench.
The work was carried out after £99,454 of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding was awarded by Lichfield District Council following an application from Fazeley Town Council.
Cllr Alex Farrell, cabinet member for housing and the Local Plan, said:
"This play area in Fazeley has been sought after by residents for a long time and I’m pleased that £100,000 of CIL money, which is given to us by developers across the district, has gone towards making it happen.
"It is a brilliant space for the local community and will be used by people for many years to come."

Cllr John Hill, Mayor of Fazeley and Fazeley district councillor, said:
“We’d tried previously to secure CIL money for the Play Area Project, but didn’t quite meet the criteria.
"Rather than abandoning the project, Alex and I decided to give it another go and I was overjoyed when the news came through that our application had been approved.
"Judging by children’s laughter, smiles and excitement at the play area it certainly has their seal of approval."
